Internalizing Externalities: America’s Most Toxic Cities

Forbes posted a list of American’s most toxic cities which was compiled using data from the EPA:

Most toxic:  Atlanta, followed by old favorites Detroit, Houston, Chicago, & Philadelphia

Least toxic:  Vegas, followed by Sacramento, Riverside, Austin, & Seattle

Nice to see that the city I live in continues to be Philthy… (sorry, I had to)

Interesting how Vegas is the least toxic considering that pollution would be the least damaging given the environmental value (it being a desert and all) while beautiful areas like Philadelephia has to pay the price.  (not that I am saying there is a difference in environmental value, which could be subjective, I mean by ecological diversity that’s all, I don’t know)
